Optimization of EPD suspension for spinel-based coatings for Solid Oxide Cell (SOC) technology

Elisa received her master’s degree in Materials Engineering at Politecnico di Torino, Italy, in 2018, with a thesis on the characterization of MnCo-spinel coatings produced by electrophoretic deposition (EPD) for Solid Oxide Cell (SOC) application. She is currently a PhD student at the Department of Applied Science and Technology, Politecnico di Torino. Her current research activity focuses on the use of EPD technique to produce doped coatings by simultaneous co-deposition of different oxides [1, 2]. Her project at the FAU Institute of Biomaterials is supported by a KMM-VIN research fellowship and involves the development of novel EPD suspensions in order to optimize the functional properties (e.g. improved oxidation resistance and electrical conductivity) of protective coatings for SOC metallic interconnects.
