Advanced inorganic porous materials for drug delivery applications and tissue scaffolds

Collaborator: Sena Harmanci, Prof. Aldo R. Boccaccini

Cekdar Vakif Ahmetoglu is a former Marie-Curie fellow, and was awarded a Fellowship by the Alexander von Humboldt (AvH) Foundation in 2020 for research at the Technical University of Berlin, Germany. Here at the Institute of Biomaterials, Department of Materials Science and Engineering of the Friedrich Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg (FAU), in the collaborative work with Prof. Dr. Boccaccini, he is exploring the potential applications of inorganic aerogels and their various monolithic forms to be used in drug delivery systems and as a scaffold for tissue engineering.
